Stock Rover LLC today announced the official release of Stock Rover V1.0, a Web 2.0 investment research platform which enables individual investors to perform fundamental and technical analysis on investable securities. Stock Rover was in beta for roughly seven months and during this period significant user feedback was collected and incorporated into this official release. Major improvements include a more intuitive interface and a significantly larger and more comprehensive database of supported tickers. The ticker database has increased from roughly 10,000 to over 40,000. The number of supported Funds has doubled and Stock Rover now supports Pink Sheet listings, preferred shares and closed end funds.
Stock Rover was launched as a beta version in March of this year and has been under continuous development since. “The purpose of the beta program was to learn more about customer wants and needs,” said Howard Reisman, Stock Rover CEO. “Shortly after a rave review in Barron’s, we analyzed the feedback of over 5,000 users and conducted dozens of tests in our user experience lab. The results of all this feedback were critical in helping us shape the product roadmap. The most common feedback dealt with the completeness of our database so in this release we more than quadrupled the number of supported tickers.”
User experience testing also prompted significant improvements to Stock Rover’s layout including the addition of Task Wizards that make it simpler for users to execute common tasks, new Views tabs that make columns selection more intuitive, and a greatly improved news section. A large number of smaller refinements such as automatically saving View changes, context-sensitive help, print capability, and faster and more complete search results have been well received by early access users.
With this release, Stock Rover exits the beta phase yet can still be accessed free of charge for a limited time atStockRover.com.
